already looking forward to next year! LOL

my truck should have much more test time by them and should require much less wrench time on the trail! Roll Eyes After thinking back to the run and watching some of the videos it is really obvious I need lower gearing. I was having to power over stuff way to much and worked the clutch hard. Most of you all have much better crawl ratios than me. But....this summer we will be custom fitting a planetary crawl box which should double my low end, ie 2:1 to 4:1. Me thinks that should do it. At same time I will step it up to 38.5x14.5 Creepies! And then I will probily blow up the front diff! lol

Oh ya will have to go up to 16" shock at the same time too. Wink

A friend of mine in Aus. is talking about importing his GU diesel Patrol for the run and some touring in the USA. Very small chance it will happen but hey it sure would be cool to have a 2004 diesel Patrol on the run eh?

Ya I am running 2:1 and 4.6 gears...it just really isn't low enough for rock crawling.

Your truck is really capable Marshal...those spring hangers were the only thing causing you probs. I must say I was impressed with your truck and a few others. Chug

Calmini gears for the TX10A case are 3.92:1. My axle gears are 5.142/5.13. It does make a heckuva difference.

I'll have new rear springs that should handle the load better next year and some sort of ramp skid on my fronti spring hanger. DL really wants the X SAS'd by then, but I dunno.....time and money....and finding someone to help with the fab work. Ugh.

I eat at Taco Bell at least once a week. I know I'll feel sick afterwards, but I can't stop the craving. It must be like how a dog feels, when he eats his own poop.

DR, what did you have in mind for Table Mesa Rd. next year? I found a pretty cool powerline road on Table Mesa rd. West. It runs inbetween Lake Pleasant and New River Rd. It was not very difficult but had some decent views. Took about 4 hours with 2 trucks (just taking our time though). I wish I could map it out better, but just to give you an idea check this out:

Powerline trail

We could run it the day before we run CK and connect to it real quick.

I'll check that out Alan.

I'd like to start at I17 but will need a contingency, because we ain't crossing the Agua Fria if it's deep.

Is there a date decided for azrun IX yet?

There is a chance I can attend this one, although probably not with my truck. Candis has made me this deal...

We fly to phoenix. she drives to vegas for her bachelorette with her sister & friends, I spend the week offroad as my bachelor party. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Only thing is... the wedding is the 13th, so either I could only go for the first half that week, OR it needs to be the 1st week of march...

We may be holding AZ IX in late march or early April if we plan on running the Bradshaws.

Yeah, sorry Jove. It ain't gonna be that early.

We damn near froze up in Payson this year. I'm pushing it out to probably close to the last week in March if possible.

hmm.. honeymoon? somehow I don't think that'll fly. It'll be the same deal as this year... if I can afford it, I get to go. by "afford" it, I mean pay off all the existing debt, and have saved up to pay for a chunk of the wedding, AND have a much better paying job than I do now. We'll see. it's a year away!

One of the factors in me going is if it falls on the boys' spring break. The other is money. I am praying for a Christmas bonus.
