hey you guys, Im new to this board, but i have been a part the nissan community for a long time.

Im trying to plan out a suspension for a S/C Desert Runner. i would like a nice "10 wheel travel at least, using some Fox 2.0 7/8 shaft shocks all around. The problem is, i dont know what kind of uca a-arms to get, and other wise what else do i need to finish this lift/suspension.

P.S.- I really want to have at least 3" of ground clearance, and to fit 32"s. and this is my daily driver.

Ya I off road alot, if you count sidewalks!

There are really three main options...

www.spencerlowracing.com

www.4x4parts.com

www.calmini.com

All have the UCAs the prices vary. All 3 companies are usually back ordered so expect a little wait. Spencer Low seems to be more into the desert runner 2 wheel drive sceen so that may be your best bet. Automotive Customizers(4x4parts.com) has the best prices and good customer service so that is another good option.

Fabtech makes a 2wd lift for your rig I believe.

None of the UCAs offered for Frontiers will give you 10" of wheel travel, I don't even know if they'll let you run those shocks without smacking them. The 2wd Frontiers (NonDR) have a kit available from Total Chaos, but I doubt it will adapt to your truck. That kit includes new upper and lower arms along with a subframe. Your looking at some major custom work on your rig. Custom upper arms, custom lower arms, someway to brace it all together, and so forth. While your at it you might as well ditch the torsion bars and use coilovers. This comes close to what you may want, I suggest giving them a call.

Oh and now you are not dilusional. The front track IS wider than the rear, this is from the longer lower and upper arms.

Is that the Stage 4 lift? some people recommend me to not get the AC uca's. although they are reliable, thats what I heard. Do you really recommend getting the Stage 4 or just to get all the parts individually from them?

maybe someone can help me out here.... There was a discussion a while back about an insane 2wd lift. I forgot who made it, but it had like 6-8" of lift and insane travel. I am going to see if I can find out who makes it. This lift, btw, is strictly for two wheel drive only.

okey, i actually found it, it is called "total chaos". It is not for frontiers like I thought they are. They are only for hardbody only. But here is the url if you are interested in reading it. Maybe it will help link you to something we dont know about.

actually, i did some more digging, check this out... this is for frontiers....

It seems like for the money, you are better off going with SLR if you dont care how much you spend. Because they are strictly designed for 2wd racing setup. That is my .02

oh, its total chaos, ya ive been considering them for a long time, but it only gives you about "2 of lift, plus you have to have fiberglass fenders to fit even 31"s. The travel is outstanding, however its not what im looking for. Have you checked my link to fabtech? Though its a tacoma, is there anyway i could make anything similar to that using individual parts?

I don't think any aftermarket UCA will allow you to convert to coil overs. I'm pretty much 100% sure the CalMini one won't, they had to make a notch for the regular shocks. So you'd have to have a custom one made, then you'd need to reinforce the lower arm to be able to accept a coilover. You'd also need a higher mount, otherwise you'd be stuck with a 13" or so coilover. You'd need about a 2.5"+ coil to be able to support the weight up front. All said and done it is going to cost ALOT.

The Total Chaos kit is nice, but like I said I doubt it will adapt to your truck. As for the SLR picture, I don't think its the Stage 4 lift. The Stage 4 uses reinforced stock lower arms, the ones in that pic are not stock. Plus the lower and upper arms are like 2" longer.

yeah, you are right about that, that is why I was suggesting the stage IV SLR, because it will fill his needs.....

Could I change the shocks if i get the SLR lift? Which one are you suggesting, stage 3 or 4? Do you know a estimate or price that the custom fabbed suspension would cost me?
