After six months of work, my new install is finally completed. I want to brag to someone and the XOC would flame me for days, so I'll post here. http://www.sounddomain.com/id/justagirl

Damn nice set-up. Is the wall behind the back seat or the front seats?

The wall is behind the back seats. The dash pod was built with just a little fiberglass and bondo. I had someone do all the paint work. I did not have the tools for that.

I have an Alpine CDA-9813 in my truck and it sounds badass!!! It has a built in EQ with 6 user memory slots plus 4 presets, an Active Xover with 6 memory presets. Media expander. Built in Time Correction. It plays mp3s, CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs (not that that matters anymore, lol). I am using this head unit in conjunction with a sony amp (soon to change to JL), which powers 1 12" MTX sub, and two Pioneer 6.5 coaxial door speakers... soon to change as well. Wink

The sound quaility of this head units blows all the Pioneer and Kenwood decks that I have owned out of the water. This unit is well worth the $500 I paid for it, and I totally recommend this deck to anyone Wink

But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just wanted to stand by mine. Smile smiley41

That is a nice system Wink

I was gonna go that route, but the guys on this forum corrupted me. I am now dumping the money I would have spent on a system into converting my truck to a 4wd... THANKS GUYS!!! Chug

I did a little fiberglassing in my truck. I made a console to house a xover that I had. Now that my Alpine deck has one in it, I am gonna fill the console, and use it to house switches for my off road lights. 'Wink

Yeah, what Bill said, is it for SQ or SPL? Big Grin Looks really good Big Grin Big Grin

How hard is it to fiberglass stuff? I have a few ideas floating around I'd like to try out.

It isn't that difficult...

Just have to take lots of time to prep, and that much more to sand Wink Plus filling, plus cussing, plus fumes Wink

You will spend some money learning how to fiberglass, but after a while you will get the hang of it Wink

Dude....... lol

I'm not talking about anything major. I was just looking for a way to keep the heat down a little short of ditching the hood altogether.

lol I can't find the right pic. That's NOT AT ALL what I want. It seems to me that it would be a good thing to let a little bit of that hot air out from under there. I could cut a slit in the middle of the hood, bend it down an inch or two, then add some 'glass on the sides for support.
