Hey all... I got new shoes on the truck...

31x10.5x15 BFGs. They totally kick ass. I have a little rubbing, only at full turn though. They are so much nicer than the pizza cutter tires that they throw on there. The weel wells are nice and filled up now! Smile Next on the list is a suspension lift. I am thinking about the one from AC. The total chaos lift would kick ass, but it it way out of my price range, Wink

I am putting Herculiner on my truck now... Just finished the tailgate, will have the rest of the bed done by Tuesday or Wednesday.

That is the latest update with me. Just thought I would share.

I will have pics prolly by this weekend. I am going to finish the Herculiner by Wednesday, then I am going to be in Phoenix this weekend. I will take pics then... right now, I am digi cam deprived Roll Eyes

The tires kick ass though Smile. Very nice. With all the rain and stuff here in Tucson, things are kinda messy. I took them out playing (to the same place I got stuck in earlier this week, before the new tires, lol)on Saturday and I had no troubles then. The terrain was even more muddy than before, and my one wheel wonder did alright.

My speedo, tach, and odometer are way off.

I am wondering if regearing it is worth it. I found 5.14's and 4.11's on the AC website for around 450 bucks...

My question is this:

Should I save for the gears AND a H233B axle, and locker? Also, how much am I looking at for buying an axle... the locker I would probably get from AC.

Or just get a speedo cable gear to correct the error. Where can I find these speedo gears... I have heard alot about them, but don't know where to find 'em.

On a side note... what are your opions of the AC Suspension lift. I know they use Rancho componets, and I have heard that they can be a pain in the a$$ to align. How do you feel about the fabtech lift?

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

Actually, your tach will still be accurate. The Speedo and Odometer will be way off though.

greg, since you have a 2wd, save up for a 233 axle. I had a 2wd with a h190 axle aend did a 4.63 gearing and the gears sucks ass for that axle..... you wont regret getting a 233 for that 2wd you got.

You know, a 233 would be MUCH much easier to put in. Andy did it in his Frontier. You would need to do a SOA lift though to make it work right. Not sure what that would involve on a 2wd truck, but it might be the easiest and cheapest route.

With the 233, you'll get the 4.63:1 gears.

Yeah, the Xterra axle might work, but good luck finding one. Look online for someone parting one out. I've seen a couple being parted on XOC.

You sure the desert runners are SUA? I thought they had a the 4wd chassis, just w/o the 4wd. Anyone know for sure?

I thought the Desert Runners were on a 4wd chassis as well... I am not 100% positive though...

As for the 233, how much does one go for typically??? Also, do I have to do any custom fabbing, or is it "bolt in."

edit for this:

Also a stupid question... how do you adjust the steering stops? Dork
