At the risk of being torch , I need to ask this question...

I am going to need new tires. I was hoping to hold off on them till after I got the axle under the truck, but it doesn't look that way... I was going to run 33x1250s on a 15x8 rim with 3.75" of backspacing after I swapped in the axle...

Do you think they will fit with the Fabtech 3" SL and the PA 3" BL that I have on there now? Or, should I just buy another set of 31s and go with that?

I really would like to get the 33s under there now, this way, I won't have brand new tires that are going to be too small for the SAS.

Sorry for the noob question, I will go back under my rock now Razz

Greg, I have some concern on the front with regards to the frame. 33 will fit with some rubbing but the 12.50 gives me some concern.

My 31X10.5 rubbed on the frame at full lock, so as long as you are looking at the frame at full lock with your current setup, use that to judge the clearance.

Yeah, my 31s don't rub at all... I will have to double check the distance of the tire to the frame at full lock.

I did hear rubbing with my tires in reverse tho... turns out, it was the plastic piece at the front of the wheel well by the bumper. So, I just cut it off... Robin, that is also the same piece that was rubbing on the way out to your house over Memorial Day, remember?

I think they could fit, and if not, I will just finesse my wheel wells with a BFH and a sawzall. Hell, I am going to need to put those in sooner or later anywayz. We'll see. I will check clearance if I have nothing better to do tomorrow. However, I should probably get stuff together for this weekend. Cool

I would say then they will fit. Just be conscious of the tire/frame clearance.

Dammit... ComplainComplain

I am going to have to get some new tires tomorrow. I was hoping that I didn't have to get em till December, but they seem to wear exponentially lol Apparently, the soft rubber Mud Terrians don't like constant street driving. Frown

This sucks, because this is coming from funds that I allocated for my SAS parts. I think I can still make it all work tho...

I was thinking about getting some ATs (longer road life), but that just seems like a waste of time and money... my BFG MTs lasted a tick over a year at driving a minimum 60mi a day on the highway... Plus a trip to Vegas, and a trip to San Diego, plus a coupla trips a month to Phoenix.

I am going to Discount Tire tomorrow AM to see if I can get some 33x1250s under her. If not, than 33x1050 should be OK.

I was on the discount tire direct webpage, and they have NO 33x1250 BFG MTs in stock for AZ. I dunno how accurate that is. Maybe I can talk em into giving me the Goodyear MTRs for the price of the BFGs... I dunno.

Why not go around to the used tire places and pick up a used set of cheapos that are half worn out? Will be cheaper since you have big plans anyway....

I guess I could... but that would just be spending money on something I don't want. I hate buying something half-assed just to tide me over. I am gonna need the larger tires for the SAS anywayz. If I can get em now, that is just one less thing to worry about in December.

Well, I bought some BFG M/Ts today...

I got 32x1150s. I tried 33x1250s, but I would have had to cut a half inch of my fender by the door away... they would not let me do it there. So, I just said screw it and got the 32s... to the tune of $860 (including certs).

One less thing I have to worry about now, I guess.
