so first question is what diff is in a nissan/datsun 720 4x2?
what are will be the stock ratios?
and so can i get lsd put in and change the ratios or do i need to change the diff, if so what would be the easyest diff to put in with out cutting the axel down ect. thanks simon

You have a H190. With 3.7 gears if 5spd,

I put a h190 3rd from the 620 (72-79) trucks in both my 85 720s. I was running 30s on both. The 620 used 4.6 for autos and 4.3 for manuals. Its a simple plug in 3rd swap.

Trick is finding 620 parts now adays.

hi thanks for the info so just trying to understand what ur saying ok
what u say is my 84 720 4x2 which is a 5spd should have 3.7 in it now the easyest way to get higher ratios in it is to put a 620 diff in it?
but the 620 diff is that from a 4x4 or 4x2 and what years
but what if i get a 4x4 720 rear diff? thanks

The 720 4wds have C200. They were 4.10s. I put 4.88 in mine to handle 32s.

Yes get a 72-79 620 2wd. Nissan started making 4wds with the 720 model. All the 620 4wds are dealer converted.

I think I ran 4.37 in both my 85 2wds. One was my wifes and my truck. Both trucks had 30s. Gearing was back to stock.

I did blow up 3 H190 rear ends when I was younger. But they were cheap and easy to replace.

Here is one of my old 720s stock and lifted and regeared.
