The only difference is that I didn't do it for a "dead axle." I had every intention of finishing it. Now it is done

i think i've decided on a cheap as possible ifs lift, springs over rear axle (or h233b if i can find one for under $100), and a 3" body. i'll stick with my 15x7 gray wheels or my 17x8 supercharged wheels (both 40mm offset), and see what kinda rubbing i get before i start looking for spacers.
so just a few more things... still looking for the 4x4 fender flares (not the crew cab short bed ones) and a rear swaybar, and also a gauge cluster from a similar year and model truck, if someone is parting one out. i've been reading around a lot on the board, but theres a LOT of material to digest, so maybe you guys can sort of help me find my way around at first... as far as my strategy for allocating parts, i'm not going to get frustrated with finding good prices. half the fun is getting the stuff together. i saw a body lift that would fit my frontier go for $125 on ebay recently (woulda bid if i was sure i wanted it, but i wasn't), so i'm not paying retail for the same thing. everyone i talk to says "you've gotta pay to play", but i disagree. at least from their points of view. for example, i haven't paid for tires or oil changes in 2 years. sometimes it's a pain, but i would rather wait for the right price to come along than get done really quickly - that way, when i sell my truck, i will make a few thousand dollars on it like i did my last one, instead of selling it under the guise of "over $30k invested, my loss is your gain!!" ...get what i mean? |
