Very nice rig man.. Very clean. Those wheels almost look like the ones I had on my '95 SE before I went to the rock crawlers.

Datz - wish it was decked out more like yours. I just bought this truck used in April of this year (only 72,000 miles). Had a 2wd 1989 Nissan xtended cab and torn the clutch out of it. Wife could not drive a stick and the ac was toasted - when the clutch went south I deceided to cut my loses - only had 141,000 miles on it and ran like a topo.

I wanted another 4wd as I have had Broncos and Blazer (full size) in the past - love to duck, goose and deer hunt - plus Kids (16 and 11) needed more leg room.

I love my Pathy so far and it will be dirty from time to time.

Hope to add a bruch guard and a roof rack soon.

Will add some photos of it with the Jayco on the back once they are developed.

Very nice.. low miles are good. Nissan will cover your exhaust manifolds up to 100,000 mi.. and there was also an engine recall that will replace the engine at up to 100,000 mi if there is any piston slap at startup.

I've had my truck for about a year. I bought it with 100,000 miles on it. and have put another 34,000 on it since. The truck runs great and is very reliable.. AC is ice cold, and it gets me anywhere I want to go.

The mods I've done ran me about $3000 or so. I have a whole list up on the Members Rigs section of the web site here. I still havent put in lockers or an A arm lift yet, but the truck is pretty capable now offroad, and is well armored for offroad use.

how do you know if there is piston slap at start up?

I have noticed something that I can not identify for about 5 seconds after you start the truck.

You may just be hearing the hydraulic valve lifters before they are pumped up. That is a sign that you need to use a better oil filter with an anti-drainback valve in it. I usually use K&N oil filters.. They have a good anti-drainback valve which keeps the oil in the engine for startup. many cheaper filters dont have this valve, or have a very crappy one, and it lets the oil drain back into the oilpan, so you are essentially starting the engine without oil.

Piston slap occurs when the engine is cold.. and until it warms up. Its kinda a dull rhythmic thunking sound in the engine block. This is caused by the pistons being slightly undersized, and so they turn and "slap" the walls of the cylinders until they are warmed up (and the metal expands). This was a problem on some of the 95s. Mine is supposed to have the problem (The VIN falls within the recall list), but my engine is fine.. Some have it, some dont... if it has it, then you get a new engine for free. :P

Thanks Datz-

I get my oil changed at the Nissan dealer and all I can tell you is that the filter is light blue in color.

Maybe at 99,990 miles I will get piston slap and a free engine. wink
