Just remember that by doing that you will shorten the life of the clutch plates that make it work. It will work great initially, but when it goes caputski, it will do so VERY quickly. Milk it for everything it's worth and be ready to put a locker in pretty quickly. The only way to achieve what you did where it won't shorten clutch life is by installing stiffer springs. But you can't do that in a Nissan diff and it does limit driveability in those LSDs you can work on.

Yeah, I figured it would shorten the life of the clutch pack, but I do plan to put a locker in sometime or another so I went with it.
I suppose if I wanted to go to the trouble I could pack in an extra spring plate or an extra friction disc/plate pair, which requires the carrier be removed and disassembled. I could probably do it myself if I had the gumption, there shouldn't be any issues with backlash, preload, etc. when re-using the existing parts.

Maybe one of these days...

That would tighten it up but then you would be dealing with Detroit lockeresque type tire chirping on corners. You can figure it this way though. The Nissan LSD is a worthless pile of s@#$ and you are just maximizing your value for a little while! big grin That way you have an excuse later on to get that new toy you've always wanted.

Sooo after a loooong time I'm back.

Now back to my original question.

What would it take to swap a limited slip h233b off of another nissan onto my truck. I have a 4 cyl 4x4 with the other smaller one.

I want this because I spin the wheels very easily when I start. So instead of pulling out infront of other cars at a normal speed, I move really slowly because my one drive wheel is slipping.

The axle should for the most part mount right up. Make sure you find an axle with the same ring and pinion ratio. The only trick will be adding the larger end to your driveshaft because the pinion is larger on the H233B. On Frontiers, anyway, they all use common U-Joints, so you'd need to locate a driveline from a vehicle with the larger axle, and replace the Ujoint and pinion end on it. A driveline shop could do this for not too much money.

I'll have more info on this soon, as I'm swapping in an H233B in place of my C200 axle on my Frontier sometime in the next month.

cool.

I think last time I asked the question I didn't communicate clearly and things got off topic.

I'll look for your experience, since I have maybe $300 and I think they'll be going for computer stuff or bike stuff, so I won't probly be doing anything soon.
