if you plan on "gettin' it" frequently then i suggest welding some chain on the new motor mount and similar to the tranny mount. i welded my tranny mount solid since i was kinda pissed off and didnt feel like screwing with it and i welded chain up on my drivers side motor mount after mine went bouncing down the hill behind me when i climbed it.

How is a trac-bar supposed to keep motor mounts from breaking?

The best thing would be to build some mounts from to poly bushings.

Trac bar will get rid of axle wrap/ axle wrap causes alot of strain on the drive train including the mounts. That's way I am installing the track bar on my truck.

I tore the same two mounts out of mine this weekend too. Is there a stronger mount available or is it a fab your own deal?

Proper lift leaf springs will do away with your axle wrap.

87 hardbody everyone welds 2-4 links of chain to their motor mounts. No one sells a upgraded motor mount yet.

I am building a track bar now for my hardbody. My 63" Chevys wrap like a MOFO. I will get pics in a week or two. If your a member at pirate4x4.com do a search. Tons of info there. I plan to make a template of the bracket that welds to the h233b housing. Ill post it up for anyone to use. Should save people a lot of time.

I was thinking about using these springs on mine. This is a little discouraging to read. Are the packs you're using stock configurations with all the leaves?

63's are bad for wrap in EVERY thing, including in their 100% stock configuration. They're simply just very long. A traction bar is not complicated to build, nor does it affect flex if built correctly. I'm only running 56" springs on my truck, and need a traction bar at both ends badly.

I am using stock springs and homemade shackles. the springs are excellent for crawling, because they flex good. I would like to keep the stock springs if I can.

Packs are stock. I have tried all the combos 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton with and without overloads. All have bad wrap.
