I'm back...I think its only been like a year and a half since my last post
After years of abuse and neglect I am upgrading/replacing the parts of my exhaust system that have fallen off or cracked, like the cat back and Thorleys. (thorleys crack easily if the rest ofthe exhaust has to support the weight of the truck falling on a rock, then you weld them up and later the exhaust hangers fail so its resting on the xmembers and they crack again for you weld them up again but this time one of the tubes gets warped so it doesn't seal well and eventually cracks another tube and....well, you see where this has been going the last couple years) I'm thinking about getting Pacesetters this time since money is a factor and if (no, when) I abuse these I won't feel as bad about it. I recall some install problems with Pacesetters...I'll be putting these on my 95 Pathy...Auto transmission. Is there anything special I need to worry about or that I should change my mind over? I too have heard of fitment issues on those. I have their 4 banger header, and it hits my floorboard....

smooth sailing for me when I put mine but I have a 3" bodylift. and the only other thing I had problems with was screwing on the egr valve. instead of bolting down the headers and then trying to thread the egr on I should have threaded it on 1st.

Thanks SSH thats the kind of info I'm looking for... THe Thorleys installed easily so I KNOW whats up with them but they are just 2x the cost of the pacesetters and that adds up sometimes.
I got a borla catback to put on, thats 500 right there, add 400 for thorleys and another hundred adn something if I need a new cat, then I'm looking at 1k just in parts not even thinking of my time...Its just too much! Piscator, 95 Pathfinder Celer. Silens. Mortalis. |

I'm just keeping my stock headers. I need to replace the studs tho. Since mine is a standard, modification is required to install after market headers.
However I'm running straight 2" pipes from the cat back. No muffler. Actually is quiet at idle. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

I have had my thorleys on my 90 2wd 2.4L for at least 200,000 mi. no leaks or what so ever, the truck is rolling strong at 300,000,
The best header avail for this truck, hands down. You get what you pay for. |

I had Pacesetters on my 1992 pathfinder with MT and they were great. No leaks or cracks and they definitely made the truck run better. I have the Thorleys on my V6 hardbody and there is really no difference between the two. Exhaust, especially headers is usually a semi-custom job. I have never expected a perfect bolt on installation so I have never been disappointed. Both sets of headers were a pain to install, but that has more to do with limited space than product quality.
When I installed my Pacesetters on the Pathy I cut the crossover pipe in half and added a 2-bolt flange fitting between the pieces. This made the install cake. If you can't do it, an exhaust shop should be able to take care of it pretty cheap. Tom |

I can cut and bend metal...I got a small gas welding set up last summer, man I wish I'd got that in the first place, it can do anything.
I convertedmy wire feeder to a full Mig and will never look back. When I build the new house I'll Have the garage wired for 100amp with plenty of 50A 220v outlets and 20A 115v's I ordered the Pacesetters fromAC 215 vs 400 is a convencing arguement. I just ordered a replacement direct fit (walker) cat from Rock Auto...on sale $60 + 9 shipping. SO, this project will have me replacing the entire exhaust system. I should be good to go! well if the pacesetters are relatively east to install I'll upgrade to those when I do the exhaust studs. As long as everything fits as it should and I don't have to modify the parts I'm fine. Due to the sas I'll have a custom cross over pipe done.<- for best clearance.
