I have a 1988 H233 axle with drum brakes. I would like to switch over to disks. I am fishing for information.

OEM rotors - $27.00
OEM caliper - $42.00
Fabricated caliper bracket. $xx.xx
Caliper bolts - $8.00

All x2

OEM Brake Pad - $17.00

So how did the parking brake work on these axles that had disks? Was there a separate caliper or did the cable attach into the main caliper?

For the disks what am I missing? (I'm sure theres a allot).

I got a complete axle from a junk yard Pathy and swapped it in. Had to remove the Pathy brackets and weld on spring perches in their place. Here is a link to that thread: http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/931602833/m/41510221441/p/2

I got around the parking brake dilemma by adding a second handle, then running separate cables. That gave me cutting brakes. Here is the thread containing that information: (scroll down about halfway) http://nissan4wheelers.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/90110091041/m/32310711141/p/17

It's a fine line between clever and stupid.
