Yes, bolts, I am thinking of installing the pacesetters with bolts instead of using the studs.
Has anyone else done this and what length bolt didja use?

Or is there some overwhelming reason not to use them...?

Bolts are a good idea, however you'll have to find out what size and thread pitch the studs are.

i got you. love mine, bolts snap at the heads, alot easier to get out than a stud snapping in your block imo. one bolt, two lock washers, and youll wanna get the metric equivalent to grade five, its like 8.8. the hardness of the bolt is pretty close to the engine block's, so they tend to expand and contract the same. qty is total per engine youll need

8mm x 1.25 x 40mm (12)
8mm lock washers (24)

I think most people are hesitant to switch over to bolts just because it means you have to take out the studs, which means you will likely be breaking a few studs. Which leads to drilling, tapping, and headaches.

Easier to reuse them if they dont snap off while trying to remove the manifold.
