Ive found a 03 Xterra that a guys parting out. Im wanting to buy the rear end to put under the hardbody. Is there anyway I can use the VIN # to find the gear ratio for the rear end and if it has a limited slip. I want to make sure its got the 4.9's in it and a limited slip would be nice, but its a little bit of a haul to just go look for myself. I would ask him to look under the hood for the plate on the PS fender or the driver door jamb but i dont think he knows what to look for and i dont want any miscommunication.

If you get the VIN, I can see what it turns up. PM it to me if you'd rather not post it up here.

Can you get a shot of the door jamb sticker? that'll have the axle code.

You think i might have the wrong VIN or its just the software?

Its worth a shot to verify what you sent me, but it could be the software also. But I wouldnt invest a whole lot of effort into this, I dont think my decoder can tell me axle codes and options.

If it is NOT a supercharged X then it should have the 4.90s. Doorjamb sticker won't tell you LSD, but he can look for the orange sticker on the diff housing...

Correct, if it's NOT supercharged, it's 4.90 gears in the diffs.
It is most likely LSD, not many didn't have it. However, the 2003-2004 LSD is damn near useless anyway, not something you would want to make an effort to find, that's for sure.

They backed the pressures way down, so its practically an open differential at that point. The early Pathys 90-94 or so had the tightest then they steadily declined from there.
