I had a great day at Paragon running Blue 1 and level 2 trails. I actually did quite well on the rocks with the pathy I impressed a few jeep people. I did have some body damage nothing too major. I gouged one of my rock sliders and also had a rock hit my torsion hanger got gouged a little. I also smacked the rear pumkin on a rock no damage to it. I went through some small mud holes most of the day without issues this last one was really deep it bogged some jeeps going through. I made it but when I parked that's when all hell broke loose with the tranny.
However the day didn't end happy unfortuately my transmission was acting up in the beginning of the trip in NY then at Paragon after the last mud hole. I also found my dipstick had gotten a little muddy water down it since it had opened up some. I had to be strapped by colin to the staging area I let it dry out for a 1/2 hour and tryed it. It seemed to work fine I got out to 924 and drove for about 3 miles or so it started whinning and slipping again. I ended up at the 24hr Exxon station and got some new tranny fliud and tryed a vain attempt to drain it and refill. I noticed I had muddy water dripping out from my bell housing as well. It still wouldn't go anywhere it was basically whinning loudly and then wouldn't go anywhere after 1 min.
I had to get it towed to the a garage and I had to leave it down in Hazelton. I was informed they will bring it to nissan in wilkes barre on monday morning. I had to head home unfortunately to bring my stranded self and 2 year old son home. I am back in VT and my truck is broken down in Hazelton somewhere. I can't say it was all bad Paragon was alot of fun but I learned I shouldn't have gone through a deep mud hole a second time.
The weird thing is when I left it for a few minutes it would go in gear and shift then quit could it be something in the transmission. Water? Would a actual drain and tranny flush fix it?

Anyone have any suggestions what to do?

Drain and flush might help it.. but it may take 3-4 or more fluid changes to get all the water and crud out that probably got in there. Good luck man. I am fearin the day that my tranny starts acting up.

Nope the only thing the rocks hit were the sliders, frame, torsion hangers and rear diff.
I bypassed the factory tranny cooler and ran the lines directly to the U-haul transmission coolers.
I am hoping they can just replace the filter and drain and flush it a few times. I wish I was able to stay with my truck though man it is hard to leave your truck somewhere 380 miles away wondering how expensive it will be to get it working again....

If you need a new transmission, can I have your old one? I want to rebuild one so I can learn how to do it.

They'll probably need the old tranny for the core charge. Otherwise its very expensive to get a rebuilt tranny.

I talked with a transmission rebuild company the guy says if I got water in it chances are the tranny clutches are coming apart now. Supposedly the glue that attaches the clutch plates surfaces to the metal plates is water soluble and probaly disbonding now also he said my transmission filter is most likey clogging up with debris from mud and some clutch material so it looks like a transmission replacement or rebuild for me.
Anyone know of any in the Hazelton PA area?
