Hi, I wonder if you guys can help me I'm looking for lower rationdiffs for a Uk spec Terrano 2, mines actually a Ford Maverick but Nissan made em and just stuck blue ovals on them.

The front diff is the R180A and the rear is H233B with LSD, currently running 4.6's but want to go up to 33 or evn 35" tyres so need lower dif to get the earing back down, is anything available over there, thers nothing this side of the atlantic to my knowledge.

Welcome to Nissan4wheelers! Great to see more folks from the other side of the pond!

Automotive Customizers, which is located here in the States in Florida, sells differential gear sets for your diffs. check here: www.4x4parts.com

The ring and pinion section:

They are a bit pricey, but to regear your existing axles, they are the only option. If you are wanting 5.14 ratio, your front diff may be a challenge. They do have 4.88 gear sets for the R180A though. If you want a 5.14 ratio, you might look into upgrading to an R200A in front, which does have gear sets available and is much stronger. 5.14 is about perfect for 35s.

My Pathfinder/Terrano is currently on 35s and I am running 5.13/5.14 front and rear. I'm using the H233b gearset in the back of my pathfinder with good results. My gear set was originally made for a pre '92 Pathfinder, which had a slightly different pinion design. AC does sell a gear set that is machined to work with the later differentials, so you will want to ask them about that. It will still need a minor amount of machine work to properly set it up in your diff, so you will want to find a good installer.

Yours *should* be the same differential as the later Pathfinder/Terrano such as my 1995.

Thanks for that.

Do you have t Nissan Cabstar over there? It's a commercial truck rather than a 4x4/domestic one, not sure what you'd call it, maybe a pick up version of a panel van????? To use a common frame of reference, a pick up version of a van similar to the the GMC one that the 'A' team used, if you understand what I mean?

Anyway, I'm told the Cabstar uses a 5.57, do you know what if any vehicles used the 5.14s, it might be easier and cheaper to find some in a breakers than to have them imported, the £ is strong against the $ but our thieving government will apply import duty and VAT (purchase tax) to everything so with the shipping, 2 gear sets could work out rather pricey. Or if I know what they were fitted to I might be able to order them through Nissan directly.

Pic of my truck last weekend.
