I have heard of some F-150 snow plows that installed a dump truck transmission for its ultra low granny gears. What if you found a small enough tranny from a small semi or dump truck and put it into a hardbody. Look at this website, it’s a Nissan Dump truck. Nissan Dumptruck The biggest problem I see would be matching the tranny up to the engine. Also, the tranny might be too big. But what if you could find a Nissan diesel engine that came close to matching up and was small enough to fit in a hardbody or pathy. I know that this would probably not be possible but does anyone think it could be done?

Nissan makes a hefty 4 popper Turbo Diesal. These, at times, can be had for around $7000 for both the tranny, and diesal. Cummins 4 cyl diesal also will fit in our engine bays. They run around $4000 new. Then you would go with a small Allison tranny. There is nothing big, that will bolt up to our small gas 4 or 6 cyl engines. Could do like one of teh rockcrawlers did: Divorce the tranny! I have no clue how he did it, but it is possible w/some trannies. There was a Suzuki built (Pre-Samurai, and even smaller!) that used a divorced tranny and t-case from the factory (obviously too small, but if u can find the Zuk, or the rockbuggy on the net, then u can get the general concept).
