To answer your Q's; my jeep is not trailered to the trails that are within an hours drive. Over an hour away and it's so painful to drive it that i'd rather trailer it. it's slow, (4banger) and the top is so windy it'd give ya a headache. it's a jeep thing Big Grin
plus it's not street legal as i've got the tub and fenders cut out to make room for 35s. But it holds the road well, even though i have no sway bars front or back.

A spool is bad for street driving. it'd wear out a set of tires quick, as a spool has the axles always locked up. Would i drive it on the street to and from trails only? Yes. The Detroit in there now unlocks going around corners, and has fairly good street manners.
The benefits of a spool is low cost and better for pure rock crawling.

I can't speak for all Ford 9 inch axles, but mine is slightly offset, so the axles are slightly different sizes. the offset is so slight it has no effect on driveline angles. But one spare would not fit both sides in other words. A search on Pirate4x4 would get you the answer for all.

How did you guys connect the brakes to the stock system? Where did you get the fittings?
Well, if you are talking about Rondo and My axles, we have rear disc brakes, but the parking brake system uses a drum and shoe built into the disc brake rotor. As far as attaching the d44 ebrake cable to the stock nissan adjuster. I just fabed it all up myself and it works good. It is easy, just a small amount of dickering.

TF&J, yes you are correct. Now that i recall the drum brake parts are spendy for the zuzi so i decided not to buy them. they need replaced pretty bad. What kind of cost did you get on them? Or maybe yours were already in good shape?

Also i prefer disk brakes on my rigs. if they get wet, they clean up easily. Changing shoes is a breeze. But changing drums is a pain because getting that #%#% drum off is hard and setting all those springs etc can be bummer.
