There are no easy ways to attain cheap power on a Nissan truck or SUV. I
If we are talking about a VG30 with multiple-point fuel injection, known here in the us as VG30E. The only power gains out there are headers, cams, computer. All of which are not cheap. The only cheap power gains you will get is a complete tune-up. Replace all spark plugs, distributor rotor and cap, fuel filter, air filter and spark plug wires. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

will a bigger exauhst system give me any power increase?

Some people say they gain power by installing headers. A bigger exhaust system will not give you any power gains. A higher flowing cat and muffler keeping some resistance is what you want.
I'm running duel straight pipes from the cat back. I did not notice any power gains. In my opinion changing the exhaust on a truck is just for sound. I have not experience any horse power gains from exhaust upgrades. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

Largest and Cheapest power gain I have ever seen in my p/u is a full tune up and then run the good gas (premium). The tune up also included fuel injector/carb cleaner.
You could always look at adding the turbo. Not to expensive if you do the work yourself and find a donor vehicle. May cost a little for the donor but keep in mind you will get money back when you get rid of it. Your deal making skill depend on how much you get back. looing arround @ allot of vehicles, it seems the "bigger" your exhaust gets the higher rpm you have to reach to get your peak power. I think freer flowing than stock is not a bad idea but I would try to stick w/ smaller diameter tubing too keep a lower torqe band. =================================== mostly stock(for now) '89 Pathfinder XE over 212k and running good! Python Performance Injectors, HEI coil Thorley Headders & Magnaflow High Flow Cat w/ 2" turn down in rear wheelwell. HB Manual Locking hubs |

Words of wisdom. 2†tubing is fine. They no longer make 1 7/8 found stock on the hardbody. 1995 KC XE-V6 4x4. |

ok about the turbo. i have found a SRB25 currently running 6psi on a holden vl commodore. will it work without many if any modifications to my engine. and will i still need to get the entire manifold or will some of the patrts from the commodore. all i know about the engine is that it is a 3.0L straight 6. i am waiting for more info on the commodore's engine and intake specs.

the rb25 and rb26 are like gods of Nissan engines. You'll have so much power you'll never know what to do. I don't think you'll have enough roam to put a Nissan in line 6 into a 720 engine bay. The commodore and datuns Z, K240 have long front noses which give plenty of roam for a in line engine. As for the skylines, we don't ever see those here In the us.

I think that about your only option to increase power in a Nissan is to install an auxiliary hamster drive. If you feel like spending big money, you could always put in the "2-cylinder" hamster package.
Of course, if you live in Hill Country you'll have to slip them some amphetamines in their food pellets.... nissan low res.jpg |

There are cheap, easy power mods. Maybe a dollar added( or less) added to a full tank of fuel. A solid determination of value can then be determined when you chart your odometer readings/gallons of fuel- without, and with the additive. Some fuel additives to experiment with: xylol acetone calcium sulfonate additives. Note: the first two require special care as they are extremely strong solvents . You don't want to get them on your skin. AND recommended rates are in the range of one to [b]two[b/] ounces per TEN gallons of fuel. SUpposedly, fuel has a range of molecular weights. SOme of these "weights" are easily burnt( and some aren't). Xylene(xylol) and acetone help to vaporize ALL components of the fuel charge, enabling more thorough mixing w/ air- thereby getting more power out every power stroke. ..................... "Climate change is no longer science. It's politics... Climate change is also about power. Power to control.... It's about who gets to decide: how much energy we will have... where that energy will come from... what it will cost... It's about simulations, scenarios and monsters conjured up by computer models that should never be used to chart government policy -- especially on matters that will profoundly affect our livelihoods, living standards, life spans and dreams of a better future. "So hold onto your wallets, and hope you can hold onto your homes, cars and jobs. You're about to be put on a wild political roller coaster." - Paul Driessen, TownHall.com ( the lies of global warming)> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zeGY8zbzc8 |

okay i wasn't sure if it would fit either. i was also considering taking the turbo out and installing it on my vg30e and selling the commodore. would it be possible to run a turbo on low boost (5/6psi) without rebuilding the engine? and if so, how much would it cost to get installed?
