After worring that I'd bent something after hitting something in a snow mound...I took it in to a Texaco station near work...It aligned with no problems to speak of...It took nearly half an inch of shims on the right side and only one leetle shim on the drivers side.

Like many others with the Calmini system on an early pathy The adjustments were such that there was almost no room left on the drivers side and too much on the passengers. Plus the steering wheel wasn't gonna be straight. The tech asked if since the wheel'd be off anyway would I like him to center the adjustments and let the steering wheel go where it would.

Thus did we do. I'm still an equal # of turns in either direction and all its jus the wheel is like 90 degrees right of center.

I'm thinking I might be able to unclamp the shaft from the steering box, straighten it out and then re clamp it...

You can also remove the steering wheel itself and turn it a few splines and reinstall. If you have an air bag, don't let the wheel spin uncontrolled when disconnecting the splined shaft or you can damage the airbag wiring. If you remove the steering wheel, don't get shocked by the horn wire.

I need to adjust my steering shaft too. Maybe I can do that before work tomorrow. That is pretty straight forward Smile

I tried to do it solo the other day, I couldn't, On mine even with the bolt all the way out the clamp was tight enough to turn the wheels a little. I didn't want to risk rounding off the splines...I'll need to wedge it open somehow and then reseat it.
