hey guys I have read some of your discussions on putting 300zx heads in place of the original heads for the better cams and higher compression. is there any difference in compression and are these heads direct bolt on with no modifications needed
Someone just mentioned this in another thread recently. Motosport sells 300Z cams for 179-90(?) a set. They were thrown out there because they are a very cheap alternative to automotive customizers and JTW.
No cams are direct bolt on. you have to pull the timing belt, cam gears, need all new lifters and the list goes on.
If I'm going to spend that kind of money I'll spend the money on the JTW or a/c cams.
I just replaced all the lifters about 200 miles ago so all that wont be to big of a deal to do how about some heads off a 300zx block is there any difference between the car heads and the ones on our trucks other than the cam profiles

Its JWT (Jim Wolf Tech), and the 300ZX uses a VG30E (Electronic Fuel Injection, I is for throttle body injection) :P
The 300ZX's difference in compression is from pistons, not the head...
