Guy selling ford 4x4 for cheap, It wont go into any gears except reverse. What could be the problem? Is the whole tranny shot? Please help.

Its a feature! You should buy it..
 Sounds like a dead tranny to me. If the vehicle was nice enough and the price cheap enough, I'd go for it. eh, nah i wanted a beater, trying to find a cheap one. And if it was something i could fix then i would get it, but i guess ill look else where. A guy has a 87 f250 6.9 diesel 4x4 for 800, i offered him a shotgun for it hahaha. Lets see where this takes me
