Well I will be locking the beast finally. I gave up on waiting for another option to come out.

So what do I need to be aware of on the HG49. Parts, problems, annoyances... blah blah.

Input appreciated.

isn't that just an H233B with 4.90 gears? Wouldn't it lock the same way any other H233B gets locked, ie ARB if you have LSD or a Lockright if not?

ARB is the only option due to the 33 spline shafts, but otherwise, yeah....it's the same as any other.

The ARB replaces the entire carrier, whether it's LSD or open. Additional clutch disks can be added to the LSD to effectively turn it into a spool. That's not good if you drive on icy roads tho.
