That depends on what you consider driving distance. I know some of the Jeep clubs in the area go to a private ranch near Potosi, Mo and there are also "trails" in the MTNF near Potosi. The public trails for the most part are access roads through the forest and not too challenging.

If you want to drive a little farther to a real offroad park there Badlands ORV in Indiana. A lot of us are meeting there the last weekend of June. It's being discussed here http://forum.plushfab.com/viewtopic.php?t=15

The Superlift ORV in Hot Springs, AR is pretty good for a mildly built vehicle. Disney, OK is a blast. This weekend I'm going to Tuttle Creek ORV in Kansas for Saturday and a guys private rock quarry on Sunday. Memorial Day weekend I'm heading to Disney with the Kansas Krawlers, I'll see how I fare with some massively built Jeeps and full size trucks.

In this part of the country you have to drive a bit if you want to have any legal fun offroad.

There are actually 2 ORV parks that I have heard of in south Illinois, I will try to find out the exact locations later on for you.

Thank's for the effort Frank. Please let us know what you find out.

Hey RustBucket, I dont think the Badlands Offroad Park in Attica, Indiana is very far from you at all, maybe Xman6 could be more specific about this then I could though.

I am about two hours from St. Louis. It can be done quicker just depends on how in force the ISP is out in. But figure two hours. I have a private area that the landowner has given me permission to use but it is nothing great. No climbs or anything hard. Other than that there is no place for me.

Depending on how well I like badlands it might be my new daytrip area. It is 2 1/2 hours from my house give or take.
