I just finsihed my skids. I have full skid plates from the front of the truck to where the driveshaft starts (rear)...and 21" wide. ONly problem is the rear portion of the skid is resting on the T-case causing a bad vibration..1/4" spacers should fix this..OH and I did add another VERY crucial cross-member support to tie in the front sub/mono/uni/body/whatever/thingi...which is starting to make me realize the more and more I look at it that R50s have NOTHING like a traditional unibody..

I washed the tow rig, installed the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller (with much help from Crashinaz Smile ) and fixed the gate that goes to the back yard. I almost did something on the buggy, then realized that I needed a sawzall. Frown I might end up using just an angle grinder.

I wish Adam would come get the comp buggy out of my garage... I need that space! Smile

Finished the on board air setup complete with activation switch on the dash. Installed the rear springs. Now the truck sits WAY ass high ... by about 2". I hope the springs settle, they gave me about 4" of lift in the rear... I really cannot afford the front lift springs before the run, but have the 2" blocks up there.. I also welded soem of the manifold up which helped a little.

Holy crap. 12 days left! Eek I need to get off my ass! j/k I just finished the front tubes. I might do a little more welding, but it's good enough for now. I haven't done the double shock front yet. I'm still toying with how I want to accomplish it. Big Grin I'll snap a pic just so that I can get a rise out of people. Big Grin

Okay, here is my list. I'll just list everything, since time is getting close...

Buildup #7?

4.3 TBI/TH350/dual toy cases
Toyota axles w/ 5.29's, spool rear, lockright front
4340 Chromo inners, Longfields with rings outers
Stock rear axles
39.5x15x15 TSL's, custom grooved, on 15x10, 2" BS wheels
Leafs front and rear Frown
Single core (Eek) Nissan radiator with Mark VIII electric fan

You guys don't actually think that I would get the crap ass STS's do you? Razz

TO DO:
Swap tranny
Fix tranny lines
Groove tires
Mount radiator
Get new hoses
Flush engine
Mount battery
Double shock front?
Full hydro?
4link rear?

I'll post pics tonight when I get home (at school now). The new tube work is cool. I'm gonna add some tubes to the front I think though, just to beef things up.

I feel like I'm getting ready for a competition or something. UROC is this weekend. I'm hoping that Guthrie, Campbell, and Skinny kick some Bundrant ass! haha

Oh yeah, I haven't decided on the double shock yet. I can't decide where to mount everything since the new tube work really narrow. All the stuff with ?'s by it is optional. It's all stuff that I want to do, but I'm not sure if I'll have time for it. I'm having trouble getting stuff done as it is.

You might consider draining gear oil since your vent tube hung below the diff at the Gila River....

Full hydro? Mikey, keep it simple and reliable for the run.

Full hydro is simple. It also has a question mark by it. I don't have the $ to do it the right way this soon before the run. Gear oil has been drained already. I have to eventually pull the diff to change out the welded carrier for the lockright. I also have to pull the front end apart for the 4340 inners.

put another brace on alternator bracket
check all suspension bolts for tightnes
put angle on the bottom of the skid

Which boots do you need? I have two brand new outer CV boot kits that I don't need.

I tore the CV boot on the driver side. I dont know the terminology but it is the boot that goes on the spindle side of the CV axle.

I'm not sure if it's nice to leave it at that... You need to explain how it caught on fire. That's a SWANKy kind of thing... Putting it out by pissing on it tops it off... Smile

Today I built the battery box, and did a little MORE cutting of whats left of the firewall. I also grooved a little more on the tire that I started, although, its still taking forever...

Nice junk pile Mikey.

Robin, need your mailing address...I might be able to ship one out tomorrow afternoon. They're OEM kits - cost me about $25 - pay me when you get here.

You will need to take the inner boot off to get to the outer one. It's a PITA, so just warning you. You may need a new band for the inner one after you remove it.
