Allrighty......

One of the balljoints had become detatched from the a arm effectivley leaving the "shaft" in the spindle. So in an attempt to heat the metal me and two conspirators the spindle.

What we neglected to realize was that we had already drilled out the bolt somewhat so the flame went through the bolt and right onto the boot, catching it on fire.

we all kind of stared at it for a second sayin "deerr that dere dont look rite" before putting it out.

Actually, for the outer one, you can cut the existing boot off, take a hammer with brass drift or piece of wood, and hammer the CV outer off the halfshaft. That's how I replaced mine.

Well, since the truck is on the side of the house, I can't really get anything done today. Not that there is ALL that much to do, but I'm sure I could have found something! Anyway, it's rained ALL day so far at my place, so I think tomorrow, I'm gonna move it into the garage. Hopefully I can get the tranny swapped out, and done tomorrow morning before work. That would make me very happy. Then it's possible that it could be driving by Sunday!

One other thing Mike. Pick up some expanded steel or perforated sheet to protect the radiator.

Trust me, I'm DEFINITLY going to pick up some steel for that! haha

Only one day left!! haha I'm gonna be coming right down to the wire. I don't know if I'll make it out Sunday for my shake down or not... It's lookin' *kinda* good, but I don't know for sure.. I have to finish the rear driveshaft, cooling system, and some wiring. As well as the exhaust, and shifter for the tranny. (If worse comes to worse, I'm just gonna take a piece of rod, and bolt it to the shifter thing on the trans, and do it that way.. haha) Wow. I am REALLY freakin' out over here! haha 2AM on Sat. morning, and everything isn't finished... D'OH!

Mikey, I know that feeling, and hey, you have my truck. Don't go stealing the doors off of mine because it's raining.
