Finished the corned beef today.

Ran the X through the short wash behind the sod farm, did real well. I'll just be trying it out on Woodpecker.

Checked everything, spent the better part of the day attending to this little thing or that. Changed the oil etc. Bled the brakes again, some strategic zip ties.

It's as ready as it's gonna get.

Gonna start the rear bumper over at Jimmers tonight Andy. If you wanna wait a day or two on the T-Case, I'll help you with that.

You should have had ME silicone it... Keith's tcase-to-transmission seal will NEVER EVER leak lol (I got a little silicone-happy)

I'll be damned if I'm going to dismantle the whole thing again.

I'll figure something out. Duct tape. Lots and lots of duct tape...

I think when we sealed mine after it leaked without sealant we just backed the t-case off, took the shifter boots off the top and sealed it that way. I dont believe we took any crossmembers etc off.

It's not leaking there though. It's leaking between the front and middle thirds of the case. Not so simple. I gotta drop the skid to look at it more closely. After spending every free minute I had for 5 evenings under that f#@%ing thing last week, I'm just not terribly motivated to do so. Maybe tomorrow.

I threw on one final mod to improve my truck's abilities at the campsite:

Also tested out the tire-hauling plan for the long drive out there and it worked great:

Someone pointed out that it blocks my rear license plate... wonder if I should relocate it or just risk it

Glen, watch that strap through the center of the rims. THose rims will cut that strap and I lost 4 tires at 70mph, they rolled over a 5 mile area and we spent 2 hours picking them up after a barnwell run.... We need to strap those down better. I have some 2" wide car straps we can use.

Put a towel under them so they don't get cut. Even 2" straps will cut through, mine have before.

Does the extra weight/pain in the ass negate carrying those extra rims and tires?

Seems like it wouldn't be worth it to me........

I dont think he is going to carry them on the run..??...

Looks like streets for the drive out and the muds for the run, or am I retarded.

1) Thanks for the warning about the straps... I'll rig up something better (and I plan to run a cable lock through them so nobody can steal them)

2) This is just for the drive to Phoenix - when we get there I'll put the MTs on and leave the stock wheels/hitch hauler at Stone's. It does as some weight/PITA factor - but I just can't maintain freeway speeds well without the torque converter coming unlocked all the time - These are only 32's - but for some reason they make a HUGE difference. I wouldn't do this for a short trip - but this is like a 16 hour drive and I think it'll be worth it.

3) Uh.. I forgot what I was gonna put here. I'm starting to get a little manic with excitement here Big Grin

4) There is a 5th one as a spare, BTW - it will go on the roof.
