hehe, but those roots and rocks in your side/back/stomach, the little animals running under you're pillow waking you up and scaring crap out of you, just add to the whole "camping" experience you can't have that with an air mattress

But, when you stop doing things because the weather is causing your joints to ache or when you have to sleep on an air mattress because you'd be in pain the next day otherwise.. it makes you feel old. Can't do some things I used to..

I'm not above sleeping outside without a tent. But not without my trusty coleman 6 inch air mattress!

John feels old, bwwwwwhhhaaaa. You'll be at my Fourtieth birthday party in June, that should help you feel like the whippersnapper you are.

I'll sleep outside w/o a tent too.. but gotta have my air mattress, or at least a nice cot or something. haha

Air mattress good. I spent 7 summers camping all summer long in horse camps for the USFS sleeping on sweaty stinky saddle blankets and on the ground. I figure I did that about 300 nights of my life. I'm spoiling myself these days. Air mattress in the back of the pickup. Oh yeah. Off the ground. Hard top. On a cushion of air.

Firewood good. At least the Tuesday forecast has improved from 'pouring rain' to 'cloudy and cold'.

It's raining like a SOB right now. The guys are probably loving it! There was supposed to be snow at the 6000ft elevation point, so they may be seeing lots of that today.

Talked to the guys this morning. They barely got camp broke and it started pouring on them. They're going scouting for MUD! Andy was talking to me on his cell and in order for him to get good enough reception so that we could both hear each other he had to be in some sort of strange position. He didn't elaborate and I'm not sure I wanted to know.
