Which would be a better use of my money for this run - Rear locker or new tires?

My current tires are 32x11.50x15" Dunlop Mud Rovers with a good bit of wear and close to 1000 trail miles on them. I would be replacing them with Goodyear MT/Rs.

However, if I decide to get new tires, I won't be able to afford a rear locker at this time.

Which do you think would help more for the Charoulaux (sp) Gap trail on Friday and Saturday (the days I will be attending)?

I'd say get the locker and a descent spare tire. Not that that trail needs a locker, but over all a locker will be a great thing, and you already have tires, so get a locker this time and tires next time.

Holy cow... if you can put off tires long enough to get a locker now then get the locker. Ever since I got my locker it has opened up all new doors for the wheeling experience.

Locker. The tires you have are sufficient. A locker will get you 3x farther than any tires you could get on there.

Wow....locker it is!

Of course, that's assuming I can source the money for the locker by mid-month and still have time to get it installed before going to AZ.

Tires are more of a "Hey, I need tires, let's go to Sears - leave with new tires 4 hours later" type deal...

Well, I go to school full time, live in an apartment, and don't have access to any of my tools. I'm going to have about 3 days between when my Quarter ends and I have to leave for AZ.

Time is a factor here moreso than the ability to install the locker. If I were at home in VA and had access to all my equipment for at least a few days, I'd have no problems, but with having to pack up and move out of my current apartment, it's going to be tough.

Well...it looks like I'm going to be able to come up with the money after all! And, I found that OK4WD has them on sale with free shipping, so it comes to under $900 with the compressor, shipped to my door, which ain't bad! Now...to find the time to get that sucker in there once I get the money and it gets shipped to me....ugh.
