Actually it ripped TWO shock mounts off and took a whack of frame with both.

I would suggest you plate your frame like John did.

Nice insurance and it's a pita to not have shocks running down the trail and street. Smile

Also install bumpstops and limiting straps.

Do you think spring over vs spring under played any part in the extra stress?

Thought: The extra droop over extending the shock and that over stressing the mount.

front springs are too soft....that was a big part of the problem.
