OH and I'd love to have your raw footage.

I have this new crappy editing software. Don't have a clue how to use it but it would be fun trying it out.

Meh.

Whatever you have I guess, even straight from the recorder should work, I have that fancy new computer with a TV tuner and all that, and Pinnacle Studio 9. I'm sure I won't reach your Spielberg level though lol

It'd be fun to mess around if that's okay with you...I wasn't trying to make anyone mad, I know you're busy. I get spoiled and selfish sometimes. Dork

Meh.

Umm... I totally understand and can relate it takes a lot of heart and sole to complete a video like this.

John if I can help in anyway please allow me to, I've got a lot simple video editing equipment and would be glad to help...

Yeah I do, the last little picture slide show I put together for someone which was less than 4 mins took me over 1 days worth of work straight through...

I would like to have the video in DV format since I have some time to tinker with it.

Thanks, Keith.. You understand what I'm talkin about. Imagine a 2 hour production. Smile If I had the time to do it, they would be done now.. I enjoy it, but I have too many other responsibilities.

I am doing a full dvd right now for a band....what a pain, but good guys.

The CO DVD I did was 100% unedited and the DVD titling and setup took over 10 hours worth of work and 8 hours of processor time with my new athlon 64

Actully, I'm just letting you know that I'm willing to help out... a production like this shouldn't be a one man job.

John has done so much for so many people and has volunteered tons of his time, it only makes sense that he might be tired of doing stuff like this.

John, I fully understand as I'm still working on 15-20 hrs of footage of Garrett. But I'd also love to have the raw footage. If possible, I'd love to get it on the DV if it's still on it. Or I can bring over a hard drive to transfer it that way as well.

It's been a long time since I've posted on here. There's a pretty good chance that I'll be out in Phoenix for a Co-op this spring. If that pans out, there's a fantastic chance that I'll be able to make it down there for the run. That said, I'd be up for doing some of the lighter-duty trails that were mentioned a couple pages back.

That said, other than some serious armor (I've got sliders, front, tranny skids so far, getting a t-case skid in the next month, and a heavier duty gas tank skid as well. No bumpers though.), and a rear locker, what do y'all suggest I do to my caRfitty? Do you think it's even worth it to try? I've been wanting to go on an AZ run since 2, just never had an opportunity to get out there, this might be my chance!

Sounds like your R50 is set up nicely. Fyi, System-F (Keith) has an R50 that he's taken on every trail. He'd be able to give you some good specifics on what spare parts to carry, set up, etc.

Regards,

-matt

Oh, I'm well aware of Keith's R50! Thing's a freakin beast. Lol. I've just never been very active on this forum for some odd reason...

Judging from Keith's breakages last year, I'd assume several extra CVs would be called for, belts, hoses, brake lines, and the usuaal other stuff that I always have in the truck. And I guess since we're going to be in the desert, fluids, an extra alternator and a few other misc parts could come in handy.

I don't think he's broken a halfshaft since he did the axle drop to ease the angles. He broke a couple 2 years ago due to the coil spacer lift and having the front axle in the stock postion. At full droop, the CVs would bind and go bang.

last year all I busted were tires, and I think Jim figured out that my tire gauge is off by 4psi so I was airing my tires down WAY too low which was a partial reason for the tire sideways going pop so easy.

I've updated the run schedule for Friday and Saturday. Charouleau is too long for a large group to tackle in one day - We found a great campsite about 4 miles from the end. Saturday we'll take our time breaking camp and will run the rest of the trail. We may do an optional sand wash run on the way back to Phoenix....we'll see on that.

Am also trying to work up something nice for Thursday.....like showers.

I am completing the 'entertainment package' which will include a nice mount for the lcd or optional projector hookup if anyone brings one. I am also going to build and mount two speakers which will be amp powered so we can all hear whatever movie we watch.

John was talking about a heat exchanger for hot showers, I would like to see plans on this as I might setup a second shower.
