We're leaving camp about 8:30-9am on Wednesday morning. We're about 6 miles in on Cottonwood Canyon road. We'll be off to the right of the road before the cattle guard where you cross over onto the ranch that's back there.

If you get there, you can caravan in with the rest of the group and run the Coke Ovens run. We'll probably all go into the Cabins first to offload gear.

Martinez has deteriorated on the switcbacks a bit due to erosion. There's a few tippy spots.

We need a psycho "test dummy" in a stock truck to go before us (from what I've heard there's a white pathy here that might fit that bill) lol

Both of you can run it. My caveat is at least one locker for that trail. If running a manual trans, gears come HIGHLY recommended.

Glen might have some GC issues on there, but that's what straps are for Big Grin

I was Javalina hunting in Martinez canyon last weekend, and was wondering what the name of the road that goes up to the left of the cabins?
It has a couple early switchbacks then it's straight to the top. At the top of the road there is a 100ft section that is waaay steep.
Anyone ever wheel it?

That's the Martinez Mine loop. We'll be coming down that on day 3.

Alan,

Our day 1 and 2 campspot is about 15 minutes off Hwy 79. You could do it in a car.
