mmmmmmmmmm... hot shower! Big Grin

I tell you what.. this years run was the most insane run I've ever been on.

THe pirate ship suffered a cracked intake boot which may have dusted the motor.. cant get it up past 60mph now. Frown

I also cracked/broke a CV shaft. gotta tear it down tonight to see if I can weld it up enough to work for tomorrow.

I got a few new dents and dings too.

4-4.5 rated trails with a Nissan.. wooohoo!!

fun fun fun

-my truck blew two inner CV housings
-skid plate sheared the bolts
-destroyed the top side of my rear hatch
-battery was overfilled and spuged acid all over
-bent both rear lower links, passenger hardly bent
-broke the front passenger ABS line
-destroyed my cb antenna line

I think that is it...

believe it or not, no body damage from the trail and all my breaks were on small easy obstacles, just me flogging it too hard.

TJL, Its not the MAF.. I cleaned that not too long ago (I posted a how-to on it). The truck is just very low on power. Probably mostly to due to it being heavily loaded, unbalanced tires, etc.

Oh yah, I also bent my other original lower link...

What a sweet trip, even if I was just tagging along. A HUGE thanks to Andy, D, John, Duerk and everyone else that put together the run. I had a hell of a good time, even if I wasn't doing any wheeling myself. It was way cool to meet everybody out there. It was a cool group to wheel with, just good folks to be around!

Robin and I made it home okay, man those bent leaf springs in the rear are a work of art. McDonalds' would be proud if they saw the bow in them. Robin has a few dents now and T your slider in the rear bent UP! There was plenty of damage to go around and those were definately very respectable trails worthy of any damage people recieved.

You gotta hand it to Mikey, his junk did really well. He was doing a pretty cool line and pretty much any axle running a Toy or D44 probably/would have broke something. He was wedged in pretty good. I'm thinking 40's are pretty cool...

...anyhow a nice hot shower and food were great, hope you fellas have fun the rest of the week, and thanks for letting me tag along.

-Brian

Killer! It wasn't the welds. LOL, I guess that set of sliders was too thin or needed more frame mounts. Bring it on over and we can make some more.

Hackberry was definitley the high point of the week...I was under the truck looking at the skids and all I can say is if you dont have skid plates crawl under your truck and look for damage. (Most of my skid hits were tuesday)

True Dat!! But as long as it keeps out water it dont matter what it looks like.

Actually Terrance the welds broke awhile back lol I have reenforced them since then.

Thanks for the offer terrance but I have a new project planned for my truck (still in development) that will incoporate sliders. Devil

Well, in spite of risk of rocking the boat, HUGE PROPS should go out to Jim and Shawna (please forgive me if I've misspelled her name), for taking control of the events of today (yeah, okay, the 19th) and making the situation the possible best it could be.

While it may not be the best marketing in some respects, I can't tell you how impressed I am by what I saw today. Many people stepped up, in all aspects, to make a bad situation as best it could be. SWANKy might be many off-the-wall things, but today showed that its people give a $hit and do what they need to do.

I'll let anyone else relate the story.

Damage Report....

- Dented the rear Quater pannel
- Scratch up a stock rim and trashed a hub cab
- Screwed up my stock steering (Center Link)
- Got a flat the next morning...

All in all nothing not expected...

On the trail my steering was all over the place due to Center link, but on the highway it was great, almost straight and true. For now I'll park it until I get some soild replacement parts.

Great Wheeling with you guys... Looking forward to the next RUN...

Thanks Again... MattMan..

I want to thank everyone on the run. It was really great getting the out of state support that we did. Thank you all, and really hope that you all made it back safetly. To the instate folks, well, you all know how I feel about you. So kudos to all the ppl that helped plan this and kudos to all the ppl that helped during the run. Good week, no body died, well, at least no one within the wheeling group.
Till next year......
