Wheeler![]() |
I measured mine (way back when I was IFS It's basically a flat disk with a tube around the edge - so take your wheel off and lay a ruler across the bolt pattern... if it misses the caliper - or if you can mod it a little to *make* it miss - then it'll work. Why isnt' someone making WHEELS with these things built into them? Seems and obvious next step. |

Thanks, for the info, I will measure hopefully this weekend and perform the ruler trick, then see what needs to be done. If I go the route of spacers, then I would need to find them or just wait 2 months or so and Centramatic's should be able to make them without the need for spacers. Either way, I think I want them.

The set they sell for the toyota, the plate on one pair is actually offset about 1/8". This helps them to clear calipers if you are close. On my truck, I just mixed and matched until I found a way to fit them on both the front and rear. It doesnt really matter which way they sit (tube inside or outside). On mine, the fronts were very very close to hitting the wheel. I have mabye 1/32" between the balancer and the wheel. The rears cleared easily.
Andy, these should fit rear drums just fine. |

I'm dragging this one up again.
Where did you get your balancers from John? I called the place that I posted and they are complete idiots there. He said that the 6x5.5 balancers aren't made for 1/2 ton trucks.... You said you tried a couple different models until you found a set that fit. Is there a local place that sells these? Brent 1972 K5 Blazer |

I got mine from www.centramatic.com
You need to order part number 300-556. http://centramatic.com/New_Catalog/300series.php It is the only 6x5.5" model they make. Tell them you want to order that part #. I think they developed it for Toyota pickups, but as long as your wheels have enough clearance, it works on the dana 44 and nissan rearend just fine. I dont think they have it listed for 1/2 ton pickup, but it should work fine. When I ordered them, I told them I had a pathfinder, and at first they said nope, these wont work. I told them that my axle has been changed out, so it'll work fine and they then sold them to me. |

I've got a set but I have not installed them yet (the story of my life) because they will not fit on my US Wheels 15x8 with 4.75" of backspacing. They do fit on the 15x10 with 4" and the 15x8 with 3.75" that I tried, all US Wheel.

mine was really close, but they fit. I had to try them all diferent ways to find orientations that would allow both front and rears to fit. If you guys woudl like, I can measure mine so you can check to see if the inside of your wheels are wide enough. My front ones are off at the moment due to the suspension fabrication work I'm doing.
Mine are exactly 12.75" diameter at the outer edge of the balance ring. So, you need this diameter or greater in the plane at which your wheel mounting surface is located. |
