Sooo Soo many big events this year…hard to pick and choose… GoneMoab5, EB40th, BBBB5, Rubicon, Run a Muck, Sierra Trek, Rubicon, Swap Lake, Dusy, etc.

The trails & itinerary for the first 3 days look interesting to me and those are the days I would most likely make if things work out.

I searched around for the trails, pictures, and where the camping sites might be but did’nt really find any detail descriptions, trail maps, GPS coordinates. Anybody have more detail info & pictures of them…IE the trail lengths, run time, major obstacles, GPS, etc.

As far as camping is concerned…primitive or developed & to what degree?

Since I’m going to bring my son who will be turning 3 before than I might have to camp back away for the pack since his bed time is earlier than most and I know how the campfires and good times can get late.

Spanks

Brian, Refer back to AZ Run IV pics for Woodpecker and Martinez. I don't have GPS coordinates handy. Camping is primitive (as it always is on AZ Runs). You'll need to bring everything you need (no outhouses, picnic tables, etc.)

Woodpecker is a 4.0 rated trail with a couple 5.0 rated options. Run time for lower and upper will be about 6 hours with this size group.
Lower Ajax is a 2.5-3.0. Run time - 1 hour
Upper Ajax is a 4.5, mostly due to the waterfall obstacle. Run Time - 2-3 hours, depending on stuckage situations
Martinez Canyon is a solid 4.0 nowadays. Run time for that is about 3-4 hours, again, depending on who might be holding you up. Travel time to get there from where we're camping that morning is another 2 hours.

For all of these trails, we'll be able to unload the trucks and run empty. Days 4-6 we're running fully loaded.

Can all truck make this and reload into other Vehicles to make the rest of this run (upper) or is there a by pass that we can be take to meet back up with the group? If so this will solve the alterative run for day 2.

Ajax is short enough to walk....walk along, spot, and watch the carnage.

Hey, just throwing this out there Smile.. I don't live anywhere near where this AZRUN begins or ends, but if anyone needs a place to park and crash before or after the event, I've got a spare room or two available. Come to AZ early, stay a little later, whatevuh..

Yeah - I'm definitely planning to run lower and then watch or ride along (if there is space) on upper.
