Okay pretty much I'm sure that the yellow is Woodpecker, upper and lower. I'm confused on Ajax. Is it the white one up and back, and most of the trail is the exit of Woodpecker, or is the purple one Ajax?

The blue is Martinez Cabin and Martinez mine..

part of the purple one might be Ajax, but I don't think so. Ajax just follows the wash kinda parallel to the main road, but lower starts out on the other side of the blue road, then crosses over to become upper.

My book shows the white one as being Ajax and there is no trail in the book that would be the purple (it looks pink to me Big Grin ) one.

If you love something set it free.
If it comes back, it will always be yours.
If it doesn't come back, it was never yours to begin with.

But, if it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your telephone, takes your money and doesn't appear to realize that you had set it free.....
You either married it or gave birth to it !!

Just FYI the blue squares on the map above are state trust land. Notice how we won't be on it it until after crossing the coke ovens.

And I see that the highway runs across state trust.....wondering the legality of driving across, not stopping on the land.

I always get the permit, but I'm just saying.

We also cross trust land to get to the trails.

I know. I'm wondering the legality of driving versus stopping on the land. Paved roads must be exempt or something, or they could stop everyone going to Florence. The legality of a forest service road must be different than a two laner.

Like i said I always get the permit anyway...

Yeah, I'm gonna find out about this. I'd hate to think the only people who have to have this permit are offroaders. I didn't know until I bought this map that the trust land went that far into town and crossed all those roads.

The permit is really cheap, lasts for a whole year too. I'll always get it. They do work that Florence area too from what they say, that and White Tanks.

I need to show this map to my Dad, he hunts Dove out there, and I bet he has no idea about the permit.

If you have a hunting license, you don't have to buy a permit - IF you are actively hunting at the time.

Here's the quote from their site: "The Land Department's trust management responsibilities include requiring a permit or lease and charging a fee for use of Trust land. Exceptions to this requirement are licensed hunters and fishers, actively pursuing game or fish, in-season, and certain archaeological activities permitted by the Arizona State Museum."
