hmmmmm.....
Central location for the whole run; nah.. Maybe wheel out of a location for 2 days; yeah, could even do maybe 2 of those on the next one. Hardcore crawling trails; why not. Maybe we can plan one of those in conjunction with one of the "drop off camp" locations. That way, those that want to run the hardcore crawling stuff; can. Those that want to stay and rest at camp; can. Those that want to enjoy scenery on moderate trails; can. Arrival times to camp sites; daylight hours. Not everyone wants to set up in the dark. Some of us like to get to the campsite in the daylight so we can set up and then relax. No fun in setting up camp just to goto bed. Campfire tales is part of our runs. As far as trail speeds go, well, that is always an issue. If you can not keep up with the guy in front of you, then let the guy behind you pass. You might not be worried about getting to camp, or might want more trail breaks, but maybe the guy behind you doesn't. We all need to be courteous to one another. AZ runs aren't about what we want as individuals, but what we can do as a group. |

How about 2 nights in the FJ area and 2 more down by Oracle? I'd be up for 6-7 days. I really want to check out the Oracle area trails though. Marchall and me have been talking about this for a few weeks now. Just a couple central camps maybe. Kinda satisfy both urges.

I do like the central camp thing but only for a day or two...
Early to camp works for me as I found it was hard to setup camp, cook, clean, fix, by 9PM I was ready to relax. Not... I really wanted to setup the projetor this year but every night it was way to late to do it. TOO Many people on one trail was killing us this year... Suggestions - On certrain days lets split the group... maybe a central camp where one group does one trail, the other group does a different one then we switch the next day and then move on to the next camp site. Or 2 groups... One group for the mostly 3.0-4.0 trails and another hardcore group for the 4.0-5.0 trails Or trails that can be spilt or loops where we cross paths.. I'm unsure about whether or not I'll even be able to come, but I like your idea Matt. I like the 2 groups idea, but camp at the same place at night, as much as possible.

I'm the exception, since my spouse comes with me but the wifey found the constant moving of camp stressful.
This is what i'd like to see: A central campsite and hit the trails from there, if only for a 2-3 days. Split the group, hard core guys and soft porn guys depending on trail difficulty. Hard core rock trail or two for guys with lots of spare parts. Split the groups by 30 min or more each day in order to keep the group movin' i don't mind some highway drivin' to get to the trails. it's kinda cool making people go slow when there are 30 nissans cruising down the highway. besides they should work for the honor to be in our presence anyway Rondo 2000 Frontier, ARBs, Dana 60s, 4:1, 5:38s, Warn9000 Also-'95 YJ, spools, D60s, 5.38s, Ramsey8000, 4:1 & 2.72:1, 37 Maxxis Creepy Crawlers on Kore beadlocks. 06 Titan 2wd tow vehicle Wifey traded her 04 Xterra for a Hyundai Tuscon...WTF?! |

Yeah, I like the idea of a central site for a few days. But then again, I don't know if I'm going to make it for AZ Run VI...its a even numbered run and I only seem to make the odd ones.

I was planning on making it, but then my Nissan crapped out in Jan, the SAS saga began, the Samurai rolled, due to a close encounter of the Deer kind (deer head butted my fender, killed itself, and tossed me into the ditch, a tree saving my life!), and now I'm broke
